What comes in the box?
160 tiles (152 to play, plus 2 spare Jokers and 6 Blanks), 2 dice in a pouch, a vegan leather tile bag, 4 tile guide cards, a thank-you card and a magnetic gift box.
Are racks included?
No. Our tiles are larger than most, so use racks with pushers at least 20 inches long.
Is the National Mah Jongg League card included?
No. A new card comes out every spring, so it is sold separately at nationalmahjonggleague.org.
How big are the tiles?
1.5 × 1.0 × 0.63 in (38 × 25 × 16 mm), larger than most American mahjong tiles. Each tile is four layers of acrylic.
Are the faces printed or engraved?
Engraved and color-filled.
Is it ready to give as a gift?
Yes. Everything comes in a magnetic gift box.
Where can I buy it?
The Conservatory is coming to Amazon in 2027. Orders, returns and refunds will go through your Amazon account.
A tile is missing or chipped. What do I do?
Use one of the six Blank tiles in its place for now. Then email a photo of the tile to help@tessameregames.com and we will help.
How do I clean the tiles?
Wipe them with a soft cloth, warm water and a little mild dish soap, then dry them. Do not use alcohol, acetone, bleach or window cleaner, which can cloud or crack acrylic. Keep the set out of direct sun and hot cars.
The bag smells new. Is that normal?
Yes. Let it air out for a day.
